What are the advantages of the Ultima models over a US model?

  • Durability and serviceability: Service, parts and warranty are available in Australia directly from the appliance manufacturers/suppliers plus the Ultima dealer network and fully backed by the US manufacturer.

  • More rugged design to suit Australian conditions

  • A large range of spare parts are stocked in Australia.

  • Left hand door with slide on right is more suitable for Australian caravan parks and complies with every State Government’s transport requirements.

  • Electrical appliances are 240 volt not 120 volt running through a transformer.

  • Gas appliance are built to run on Australian LPG which is different from US LPG (which use Automotive LPG)

  • Overall height is substantially lower than most US models improving wind resistance and fuel efficiency.

  • The goose-neck (front raised area of the FIFTH WHEEL) is lower than US models. Ultimas are designed specially to suit Australian utes and similar that have lower tray heights than US pick-ups. This allows a taller bedroom and still a low profile unit.

  • The ATM of the Ultima, at 3490 kg, is specifically designed to allow for it to be towed by many standard pick-ups. Many of the popular pickups in Australia are rated to tow 3000 kgs GTM even on just a tow ball, e.g. Navara, Rodeo, Ranger and Mazda BT50. The 3490 kg maximum loaded weight of the Ultima means that it can be comfortably and legally towed by many of these vehicles without modification, (except for installation of rated and approved tow hitch)
